2:30PM: Carefree enjoyment of a summer day ends and plans of action set into place as a fire threatened the little community of Tampico, Wa. Within ten minutes the fire had spread for one half of a mile. Gusty winds from the west and dry materials for fuel drove the fire thru areas of homes. Crackeling and sounds of exploding vehicle tires and tanks filled the air along with the billowing smoke.
Fire fighters were seen through the smoke desperatly attempting to save structures from the approaching meniace.
Neighbors spraying lawns for those absent and keeping a watchful eye planing for all possible contingencies.
3:24 PM Hopes glimmer as the Department of Natural Resources helocopters arived with water drops and a team of fire fighters joing the steady flow of Fire fighters from all over the county.
The fight went on thru the night but the fright had been replaced by the peacefull fealing that those that had placed their lives in danger to protect us, had taken the upper hand.
