A series of ice dams formed and broke loose on the Yakima River. Big Pine campground was severly flooded early Wednesday afternoon. The ice dam that backed the water up broke releasing a torrent downstream. The ice chunks formed another ice dam approximately 7 miles above the Roza Dam.

Water flooding over SR 821 caused WSDOT to close the road at approximately 4:00 PM.
