Top of Satus Pass looking North 3:30pm Thursday

We live on Satus Loop Road just 3 miles from the south edge of the fire.

This fire hits close to home for us as we are also non-emergency fire suppression specialists, Dominion Ranch Services LLC.

We thinned our 22 acres of forest during the time that the Monastery Complex Fire broke out in 2011. That fire missed us by 1/4 of a mile- today's fire has us on alert for sure as just to the north and south of us is reservation land & WPT land that is pretty dense forest.

Its also been dry for 33 days now, lending a wicked hand to already parched conditions that are fueling this fire.

We are packed and ready to go if the winds should change against us but until such a time comes we remain vigilant, taking steps around our structures to help minimize the dangers- been watering around the perimeter, moved the horses & keeping our eyes to the sky and always listening-the sky is currently abuzz with air support.

We have a rather ironic thing going on-the Box-Canyon fire hall has a get together scheduled for Sat. the 27th looks like it may get called off due to fire. It is for people that have property in the area, suppose to get neighbors together.
