YAKIMA, Wash. -- Shots were ringing out in Yakima Thursday. Police say the second shooting in one day is also gang-related.

Police say two men were shot in the torso area around seven o'clock on Thursday, on North 4th Avenue, just south of Lincoln behind the Safeway store.

We're told both men survived and are stable.

Officers say it looks it like started as a gang fight and escalated into a shooting.

We spoke to witnesses who say the victims ran inside the store after being shot.

"Dude walked out holding his side and blood was coming out and 'Oh crap he got shot,'" Kyle Fahsholtz said.

Officers say the shooting could be gang retaliation for the shooting earlier in the day.

"Ya know it's entirely possible, we've actually had that happen. It's actually just kind of common sense and it's been something of the norm that if one happens that is likely," said Sergeant Shelley Upton.

Officers describe the shooters as four Hispanic men who took off in a dark van.
