Rams taking a big jump from 2A to 4A
Wow, West Valley High.

Talk about stepping up in a big way to take on the Big Boys, and Girls.

For years now the Rams have competed in the Central Washington Athletic Conference.....at the 2A State Classification level after a drop in enrollment allowed West Valley to come down from the bigger 3A ranks.
The West Valley student population is bigger again now, WV knew it would be bumping up again this coming Fall for the 2014 through 16 school year seasons. But, nobody saw this coming. West Valley coaches overwhelmingly voting to leapfrog from the school's current Double-A status....over the 3a's all the way up to the 4A level. It will be one of the smallest school's in the state's biggest classification. Might be an immediate shock to West Valley parents and fans. But, it makes perfect sense and is the right move by the Rams. West Valley could have gone 3A and joined the Mid-Columbia schools in the Tri-Cities. Nobody here wanted to see that happen. And, it would have meant lower seeds to post season tournies. Instead, the Rams will join Ike, Davis and Sunnyside in the Big Nine.....now giving that still trying to find its identity conference seven teams....enough to increase berths to state tournaments from one to two. Huge for the Big Nine. Big and better for the West Valley Rams.
