Dust Devils Lose Again, Bears Get Big Comeback Win
By Keith Leventhal
The Northwest League season is starting to wind down...and the playoff race in the East division is heating up.
Thursday night, Tri-City lost, while both Spokane and Boise won. So, with 17 games left to play, the Dust Devils are just 6 games ahead of both the Indians and Hawks. On Friday night, Tri-City tried continued their series with Spokane and they wore some special camouflage jerseys. But the new threads didn't help. Tri-City loses their 3rd straight game overall, and their 4th straight at home, as they fall 7-4. The Dust Devils will try to break those streaks Saturday night as they wrap up their series with the Indians. The other team that started Friday night tied for 2nd place is the Boise Hawks. Thursday night, Boise had no trouble with Yakima, as they picked up the 9-3 win. Those two teams were back in action Friday night in Yakima. The game was tied at 1 after 9 innings. In the top of the 10th, Boise scored twice. But Yakima responds with 3 in the bottom of the 10th, capped off by Ryan Wheeler's walk-off single...and they get an exciting 4-3 win. These two teams will also wrap up their series on Saturday night. |
