Wednesday was a fairly quiet day in the Northwest League.

Most of the teams enjoyed the last off day of the season.

But, one of our area's stadiums was hosting a collection of talented players and some people with Major League ties.

Around 20 high school and college players took part in an Arizona Diamondbacks open tryout on Wednesday.

The tryout was hosted by the Yakima Bears and this is the first time they've held an event like this.

The players came in from all around the region and they showed off their skills to a pair of Diamondbacks scouts.

And, everyone was hoping they could wow the pros.

Former CWU baseball player Andrew Snowdon says, "Hopefully pretty good, I think I impressed them, proved myself out there, so hopefully I get a phone call...its something that would be a life-long dream."

The Diamondbacks were looking for players for the 2010 season.

And the team says, its possible that someone who tried out on Wednesday could be back in Yakima next summer as a member of the Bears.
