Davis stars sign on for the next level.
They brought pride back to Davis football.
Now, the exciting challenge awaiting them at the next level.
Quarterback Deion Wright connecting with Chris Chapman....one of many Pirate highlights this past fall. For the first time in more than 40 years, Davis boasting two winning seasons in a row. Nobody prouder than head coach Rick Clark....with a sendoff for three of his outstanding seniors who've made their commitments for college.
Rick Clark "They're a powerful, positive presence on this campus. And, Mr. Ramirez at our banquet made a great statement stating that these guys have changed the whole attitude at Davis."
Outstanding on the field and in the classroom, Cooper Kupp, Deion Wright and Chris Chapman today signing their college letters of intent. Deion, Davis' super signal caller will team up with receiver Chris, both headed to Western Oregon in the same conference as the Central Washington Wildcats with the strength and determination garnered from the success they achieved with the Black and Orange.
Chris Chapman "They taught me a lot. Coach Clark improved me. Receivers coaches improved me a lot. Become a better man."
Deion Wright "We came in having never had a good football team. Decided to turn it around. Were tough hard times when it was tough. But, we came through. That's what I'm going to take from this. Even if it gets tough in college we know how to pull through it. Ya, I mean you learn from that right? Yes."
All everything pass catcher Cooper Kupp will perform his magic at Eastern Washington University in Cheney under former Central head coach Beau Baldwin.
Cooer Kupp " I really respect him, his looking for in a person. How he leads his team. Really appeals to me. What are you going to be doing for them up there? I'll be laying wide receiver. Hopefully help them get back to a national championship."
Enjoy the cake gentlemen. We're confident there'll be with plenty more sweet tasting success in your future.
