Yaks star done hooping

The news not good for Yaks roundball star Brandi Henton.

Brandi''s injured knee scoped today. They decided it would be best to fix the tear in her ACL. Surgery already done. Her playing days at YVCC, done.

It's been about the toughest foe ever for Brandi Henton. Stuck on the bench, unable to play because of the banged up knee......suffered the injury in a tournament game a month ago. Since then, the transfer from Division One Long Beach State where she was a starter has had to watch her Yakima team mates struggle without her. The Yaks had been ranked number one. Brandi had been averaging nearly 30 points a game before she went down.....and out.

Brandi Henton "Sucks, you could see my team needs me. I wish I was able to play so hopefully it goes good tomorrow. It's important for you to play for your future right? Ya, of course. If it's anything serious they want me to sit out so I can have my next two or three years at a D1 and not make it worse."

It will be better now for Brandi as she rehabs. We wish her the best and a still long career in college basketball. For the Yakima Valley Yaks without Brandi....it could be a very long winter.
