Yakima Mavericks ready for next season in Yakima

Yakima's football team about to call Yakima home again.

Since the one and done Yakima Valley Warriors ran out of town after only one season two years ago.......we were once again left with one spring football team here.....the semi-pro Yakima Mavericks. Yakima boasted a 7-3 record last year and made the playoffs in its first season in the Pacific Football League. The Mavs plan to be back in 2012.......the schedule already posted on their website. But, they're a team without a place to play right now. After several seasons calling Zaepfyl Stadium home.....then playing at communities outside of Yakima for a few years.....the Mavs are ready to move back to the Valley. As soon as the team pays off its debts to the Yakima school district it plans to finish up details about using an in town site again. Hopefully that will be worked out by next week. The team admits its not in the best financial situation but is good to go for at least another season. The spring campaign kicks off April 21st against the Tacoma Invaders. Yakima looking for players and coaches.....there is a fee to play.....and of course insurance requirements.
