Local Pool Players Crowned Champs!
A triple threat from Yakima, best in the northwest.
When it comes to nine ball.........these three......are number one.
Yakima's Tim Desmariai, Clayton Foran and Nick Lopez.....taking home the title trophy from the annual Western Regional nine ball Championships in Lincoln City, Oregon.
Tim Desmarais "About the biggest tournament you can win in the northwest. So, how did that feel? Felt great"
The local trio beat out more than 100 other teams to claim the 3,000 top prize.
Clayton Foran "People watching, being able to perform under pressure can be tough. But, you like that? It seems pretty easy for all of us that week. There you go. It worked. ya."
Tim Desmarais " There's a lot more to the game than just making a ball. Getting shape on every ballthen running the table from beginning to end. A lot more to the game than it looks like."
These proud guys will be out to defend their title....but, because they've reached the top rung of this level of billiards,,,,they'll have to break up the team. But, right now, they're the kings of northwest nine ball.....making their friends and fans at the Little Dutch Inn here in town........very proud.
Nick Lopez We're pretty good in Yakima. But, there are lot of good players. You never know right? A lot of good players and just fell right into our lap pretty much. Were you surprised? Ya, I was surprised. We all played pretty good. Good competition. What was the feedback back here in the home place? Oh, everybody was excited." )))
