Kelsie Taylor launching that spear more than a 150 feet. The Naches Valley senior to be threw the javelin further than anybody else in her high school classification in all of Washington this spring......winning the state title. And, it's just gotten better. A few weeks ago, the three sport Rangers star placed high at the Outdoor Junior Championships in Eugene against college aged competitors. And, success at AAU meets this summer has qualfied Kelsie for the US Junior Olympics.
Kelsie "It was a great feeling just knowing all that hard work and the extra hours in the wight room and on the field paid off. And, just to be able to go somewhere and hopefully make a small town proud."
Kathy Taylor "I'm excited for her. It's always great to have your kid succeed. And, nothing better than that from a parent's perspective. She's done a great job. And, looking forward to getting to the Junior Olympics with her."
Getting to those prestigeous games in Wichita, Kansas won't be cheap. An account has been set up at American west Banks if you want to help this Ranger's star fulfill her dream. It's called Kelsie Taylor's Junior Olympic Fund. And, further down the road....when she's throwing the javelin for a division one college team.....hopefully a chance to shine in the spotlight on the world stage.....at the summer games.
