KENNEWICK – The Tri-City Americans are currently on a three game winning streak thanks to the team’s most recent win against the Portland Winterhawks Saturday night.

Portland and Tri-City were scoreless during the first period, but all that changed in the second period. About two minutes in the period, Jordan Messier put in a goal to put the Am’s up 1-0. Then later in the period, the Am’s did it again with Zack Stebner’s deep shot that was redirected by Justin Feser for the goal. The period ended up with the Americans up 2-0.

The third period was all Winterhawks though as Portland put in two goals of their own to force the game into overtime. In the OT, both goalies kept the game scoreless, but the Americans pulled it out in the shootout to get the win 3-2.

The past three wins have helped move Tri-City up to second place in the U.S. Division.

Next up, the Americans will take on the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday, December 1.
