Last year, the Washington and Washington State football teams combined to go 2-23.

So, I think its safe to say that it would be nearly impossible for things to get worse this year.

However, that doesn't mean that everyone thinks the Huskies and Cougs will actually get better.

The Pac-10 has released its preseason football poll...and the news isn't good for our 2 teams.

7-time defending Pac-10 champion USC is once again the favorite to win the conference title.

The Trojans got 28 of the 32 first place votes, with 2nd place Cal getting 3 votes and Oregon getting the other one.

Now you've got to look way down the list to find the Huskies and Cougs.

Washington is picked as the 9th best team in the Pac-10.

And the only team below them is Washington State.

The Cougs were listed as the 10th place team by 29 of the 32 voters.

Both UW and WSU will start fall practice on August 10th.

There is one more piece of college football news...and its not good for a former area star.

Prosser's Kirby Moore was expected to play as a true freshman this year with his older brother Kellen at Boise State.

But, the Idaho Statesman is reporting that Kirby broke his foot during summer conditioning, and his status for the Broncos first game of the year is up in the air.

Boise State head coach Chris Petersen told the newspaper that he doesn't think Kirby will be ready for their season opener, but that they will evaluate him on a week to week basis.

Kellen and the rest of the Broncos will open their season September 3rd when they host Oregon.
