Valley's best athletes, coaches honored at annual luncheon
YAKIMA, Wash. -- KIMA is proud to boast about so many great athletes and teams in the Yakima Valley. The greatest were honored Wednesday afternoon at the Yakima Valley Sports Luncheon.

This is how we put the perfect exclamation mark on another incredible year in our part of the sports world. The tenth annual Yakima Valley Sports Awards Luncheon.

The talent and competition incredible. In the end, voted the female athlete of the year East Valley soccer, basketball and track star Yasi Mohsenian. The U-Dubber to be voted the the CWAC Soccer Offensive MVP while leading the Red Devil roundballers to the 2A State Championship final.

The first 4A state hoop title in nearly half a century for the team of the year Davis. A star studded squad. Shining the brightest, senior David Trimble, also a football standout, voted the valley's top guy as well as the state's basketball player of the year for all classifications

The spring season team of the year, the Naches Valley baseball squad coached by Bill Walker. Fall's top team the undefeated West Valley Volleyballers. The rams running the table with a 35 - 0 mark on their way to a 3A state championship. Nobody prouder, than our Yakima Valley coach of the year Katie Hinkley

KIMA proud to cover these young student athletes throughout their high school careers. They move on to bigger and better things. We take a short summer break and then get ready to kick it back into high gear again in the fall.
