TACOMA, Wash. -- No region in the state dominating the Mat Classic in Tacoma more than our local Central Washington schools. Only KIMA and a Dome full of wrestling fans there to witness history.

East Valley's Anton Yates powering his way to the 170 pound AA title.
In overtime Kittitas senior Jon Walling, 3rd at the T-dome last year, big time this weekend capturing the 2B crown at 138.
Girl power in grand style. Individual titles for Grandview sophomore Marizza Birrueta and Greyhounds freshman Desiree Zavala.
Getting down and gritty with the Griz. Sunnyside's Homer Romero at 106 pounds -- winning in overtime. Follow that up with Grizzly Jesse Barajas capping off a 23-0 campaign with an extra period title victory himself at 113. Sunnyside bringing home the 3A third place hardware.
But oh what a grand party for Granger. How about senior Joshua Salcedo? More than 100 straight wins. This one the biggest -- capturing his third state championship at 120.
No rest for the Spartans -- down to the final seconds at 126 Adrian Guerrero trailing by one and he does it, scoring a takedown at the buzzer to pull off the win. Adrian in tears hugging his coaches. A wow moment at the dome.
Add on a title at 195 pounds for spartan Abidan Duarte and Granger would celebrate its first state championship in any sport ever.
Actually, Granger High School has won a state championship before in Men's track and field back in the 1930s. Just wanted to clarify that up for the author and website.
