Assistant M's GM Pelekoudas resigns
By Associated Press
SEATTLE (AP) - Another member of the Seattle Mariners' old regime has resigned.
Vice president and associate general manager Lee Pelekoudas said Tuesday he is leaving to pursue other career opportunities. Pelekoudas was Seattle's interim general manager after the team fired Bill Bavasi in the middle of last season. The Mariners then hired Jack Zduriencik last fall as full-time GM. Pelekoudas has been with the team since 1979, when he was the director of team travel. He moved to baseball administration in 1987. He thanked team chief executive Howard Lincoln and president Chuck Armstrong for having confidence in him. He says he believes the Mariners are headed in the right direction. |
