Dust Devils and Bears Open Homestands With Losses

By Keith Leventhal

It has been a long time since the Tri-City Dust Devils played at Gesa Stadium.

After losing to Spokane last Monday, the Dust Devils played 3 games in Yakima, 5 in Vancouver, then had a day off.

Of course, the flip side of that is now 12 of their next 15 games are at Gesa Stadium.

And that stretch got started on Thursday night as Tri-City opened a series with 2nd place Spokane.

And Spokane ruins the Dust Devils homecoming as they get the 8-4 win.

These two teams will be back on the field on Friday night.

The Yakima Bears also came back home after spending 6 days away from County Stadium.

They opened up a series on Thursday night with Boise.

Brent Greer did hit his 7th home run of the year...but that was pretty much the only highlight for the Bears.

They open their homestand with a 9-3 loss to the Hawks.

So, Boise and Spokane stay tied for 2nd place in the East division...they're both now 6 games behind Tri-City.

And Yakima and Boise will also be back in action on Friday night.
