YVCC Women's Soccer Coach Resigns

Tools

By Keith Leventhal

Back in 2006, Yakima Valley Community College started a women's soccer team.

The first coach in school history was Luiz Machado...and he's been the coach there for all 3 of their seasons.

But now, he's decided to step down from that position.

Machado has resigned so he can focus on earning his college degree.

In his 3 seasons with the Yaks, Machado went 16-35-10 and led the team to the NWAACC tournament twice.

Yakima Valley wasted no time in finding his replacement.

The school announced that Jake Sagare will take over the head coaching position.

He's been the head coach of the West Valley boys soccer team for the last few years, and he also played for both the Seattle Sounders and the Portland Timbers.
