American Legion State Tournament Down To 3 Teams
By Keith Leventhal
The American Legion state tournaments continued on Tuesday all over the state.
And in the senior tournament, we're down to the final 4 teams. The late game on Tuesday night was a cross-town rivalry game...the Twin City Titans versus the Kennewick Bandits. This one would go to extra innings...but the Bandits get the big 12-10 win in 10 innings. In the other semifinal, the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak stay alive as they beat Lower Columbia 6-4. So, we're now down to 3 teams...and they're all from the Central Washington League. Wednesday at 5 PM, the Kennewick Bandits will play Yakima Valley in a loser out game. Then at 8 PM, the winner of that game will take on the Twin City Titans in the state championship game. Both of those games will be at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. There's also one junior legion state tournament score to pass along. There was another cross-town battle on Tuesday night as the Pasco Sun Devils played the Kennewick Dusters. And Kennewick advances...they end Pasco's season as they beat the Sun Devils 7-3. The Dusters will be back on the field Wednesday at 3. |
