Solar plane begins 1st transcontinental flight

The suit of Solar Impulse's Chief Executive Officer and pilot Andre Borschberg is set out for him before the experimental aircraft "Solar Impulse", HB-SIA, takes off for its first intercontinental flight to Morocco at the airbase in Payerne, Switzerland, Thursday, May 24, 2012. Solar-powered aircraft Solar Impulse, the zero fuel airplane, makes its first intercontinental trip with final destination Rabat, Morocco. The prototype will land in Madrid for a technical layover, as well as to change pilots.
