Police: Thief left stolen tractor in parking lot while shoplifting
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police caught the man they say stole a John Deere grass cutter from Yakima Valley Tech early Wednesday morning.

Officers say he took off the with mower around 1 a.m.

Wal-Mart called police to report the same man for shoplifting Wednesday evening. Yakima police responded and found the stolen tractor on the truck being driven by the suspect.

The truck's owner says the distant relatives borrowed it and didn't bring it back.

"I'm a hundred percent happy that they got the truck and that I don't have to go and work with impound, and that they got these people off the streets. They don't need to be on the streets," Joseph Riley said.

Police say the suspect had tried stealing from Wal-Mart before, as well.
