NEW YORK (AP) - A teenager accused of bombing a Starbucks coffee shop in New York City will wear an electronic ankle bracelet to monitor his whereabouts as part of a deal to remain free on bail.

Seventeen-year-old Kyle Shaw was released on $300,000 bail last week after being arrested on charges of arson, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief in the pre-dawn bombing, which shattered the Manhattan shop's windows but caused no injuries.

Police say Shaw was trying to emulate a character in the Brad Pitt movie "Fight Club."

When an indictment against Shaw was unsealed Monday, prosecutor Christopher Ryan argued he should be jailed without bail.

Shaw pleaded not guilty.

Defense lawyer Adam Perlmutter suggested the electronic bracelet, and the judge said OK. Perlmutter said the monitoring device would be affixed before Shaw left the courthouse Monday.
