Yakima school district rejects all Davis renovation bids
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima school district's plan to renovate Davis High School hit a speed bump. Friday, the school board denied all contractors' bids.

Yakima expects to spend nearly $100 million on the renovations and an addition.

The district tells KIMA all three bids came in about 9% higher than that number.

The superintendent says they won't spend a dollar more than they have.

"I think it's important to live within your budget and these bids were not within our budget and thus we simply make some adjustments and go out for bids again," said Elaine Beraza, Yakima School District Superintendent.

The district will reopen bids within a few weeks. It has to accept a bid by the end of October.
