Yakima City Council to vote on adding animal control officers
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima might make a deal with the Humane Society of Central Washington for help with animal control.

The deal would have the humane society provide two more officers to enforce code violations. It's a six-month contract that would cost the city $51,000.

Neighbors said something needs to be done to keep stray animals in check.

"They'll bite you and when you're in a position like I am, you can't very well fend them off and you make a complaint and they say well we don't have the people to take care of it," said Rosemary Traub.

Yakima City Council will vote on it Tuesday night. The contract would take effect July 1st.
