Yakima city council puts road repairs in hands of voters
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima city council approved an ordinance that will mandate the city spends $2 million a year on road repairs.

The charter amendment passed unanimously.

It takes the place of the car tab fee that council initially proposed to generate money for roads.

Now, taxpayers will vote on the amendment in August.
