Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital CEO retires
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Monday was the last day on the job for the head of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Colleagues wished Rick Linneweh goodbye. Photos lined the tables while a slideshow played in the background.

Linneweh has been the hospital's CEO for the last 37 years. Memorial only had about a third of the number of employees it has today when he took over.

"Any time you add new kinds of services and new locations for them, that enters in a new challenge," said Linneweh. "I think that has probably been the most significant element of my legacy here, and that is the growth of the hospital from what is was to what it is today."

Memorial's COO Russ Myers will take over Linneweh's job tomorrow.
