YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Safety improvements are on the way for some roads in Yakima County. The county plans to replace about 4,000 feet of guardrails.

They'll take the place of older rails made of wood, aluminum and concrete, like the one on Schuller Grade.

The guardrails will be made of galvanized steel and can handle greater impacts. It will cost the county about $200,000. Work should begin in a couple of weeks.
