YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima County will invest $1.8 million to help the city of Yakima redevelop the old mill site.

Half will come from a grant; the other half, a loan. The city will use the money to buy the old landfill property, land beneath the plywood plant and six properties south of the railroad tracks.

Yakima plans to build a roundabout at Fair Avenue, Lincoln and 10th Street.

The county wants its investment to secure a future north-south corridor.
