YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima City Council wants a piece of the pie when it comes to the tax money from legal marijuana.

Mayor Micah Cawley officially signed the letter that asks state lawmakers to share marijuana revenues with local governments.

City Council maintains that despite banning marijuana businesses in city limits, Yakima still needs money to enforce the law.

Yakima Police Chief Dominic Rizzi told the council the law puts an added burden on his department.
