YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday to consider the next step in the city's legal battle with the ACLU.

Council members will meet with lawyers. They'll go over the effects of a federal judge's ruling against the city of Yakima.

Judge Thomas Rice ruled Yakima's election system dilutes Latino votes.

Both sides will present proposals for changing the system in October.
