WAPATO, Wash. -- Hundreds turned out Tuesday evening in Wapato for the Native Pride Night Out On Crime.

There was free food and drinks, as well as fun activities for the kids.
It was hosted by the Yakama Nation Housing Authority, which presented resources to help keep families away from crime and alcohol.

"So often there's so much crime activity, so much substance abuse that goes on and it's important that we try to give them information that provides them with alternatives to those kind of activities," said Bill Picotte, Yakama Nation Housing Authority.

The celebration also included presentations from the Yakama Nation Fire District as well as Public Safety and Corrections.
