YPD's Gang Unit arrests nearly a criminal-a-day for a month

YAKIMA, Wash. -- YPD's Gang Unit says they've pulled a violent gang member off the streets nearly every day in the past month.
Police made 28 arrests in 30 days.
24 of those arrests were violent gang members. They included wanted criminal,Jacob Lucey, and the suspects involved in last month's downtown homicide.
"We're out there looking for them and during the course of looking for them we find others that are wanted as well. So, a lot of it has to do with having good luck, good police work and being at the right place at the right time," said Sergeant David Cortez.
Police say they also arrested the suspect who assaulted a state trooper.

What good is arresting them when there is no room in the jail to keep them?!
@GeorgeG.There is room, just not a lot of cash to pay for them.
@Sal King It costs more to catch and release than to just keep them in jail.

Job well done ( well almost ) there's still plenty out there that need incarceration regardless keep it up ( the sad things is there will always be an other to replace the other )
@PROTECT THE KIDS Too bad it's probably the same people arrest and then released over and over again since there is no room in the jail. But at least Yakima voted for taxes to build a pool.Â
