Women tied up during frightening home invasion

ROCHESTER, Wash. - Thurston County sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who burst into a home early Friday, tied up two women there and stole jewelry, a car and other valuables.

Deputies responded to the scene, a home in the 10900 block of Highway 12 in Rochester, just south of Olympia, at about 12:55 a.m. Friday after receiving a 911 call about a home invasion robbery.

Lt. Greg Elwin of the Thurston County Sheriff's Office said the women told deputies that a man had knocked on the door of the home, then forced his way inside.

The suspect then bound the woman who owns the home and another woman who was visiting as a house guest.

The suspect took jewelry, personal effects and a car. The stolen vehicle is a 2006 black Toyota Scion, with Washington license plate 922-UXP.

The women said the man concealed his identity, and no description is available.

The victims were not injured during the incident, but were shaken up.
