RICHLAND, Wash. -- Richland police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that happened early Wednesday morning.
A woman was attacked around 4:30 a.m. as she was getting into her car on the 1000 block of Potter Avenue.
She told police her attacker was wearing a mask and that he punched her and shocked her twice with a stun-gun.
During the attack, the woman ripped the mask off the man, police said. She also hit the panic button on her key fob. Her family came out and took off running after the attacker.
The victim suffered a cut on her hand and some facial injuries.
Just a few minutes later police got a call from a homeowner on the 1200 block of Perkins Avenue that someone had run through the house and out the back door. She said her front door was unlocked.
Police are looking for a middle-aged white man. Officers found his mask and gloves at the scene of the attempted kidnapping.
