Wind-driven fire burns 15 acres near Toppenish
Warm temperatures and wind drove a controlled fire out of control near Toppenish Wednesday. Officials say the fire burned about 15 acres, but no one was hurt and no property was damaged.
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Hot temperatures and a breeze were the recipe for a controlled burn that got out of control near Toppenish. The fire was near the intersection of Plank and Satus Roads.

After hours of work, crews cleared the area around 3:45. Authorities say about 15 acres burned. Nobody was hurt and there was no property damage.
