NACHES, Wash. -- The state Transportation Department says Highway 12 over White Pass should be fully reopened to two lanes by Thanksgiving. But be prepared for nighttime lane closures early next week.
Crews will close White Pass from 7 p.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday, November 4th-6th from SR 410/US 12 junction near Naches to the US 12/SR 123 junction near Packwood. US 12 will be open to local traffic but drivers will not be able to cross the washed out area, 3 miles east of White Pass.
Traffic has been restricted to one lane since an Oct. 1 washout damaged the highway on the east side of the pass.
The Chronicle reports the $800,000 repair is funded in part through an emergency declaration from the governor.
