Wapato Community Center finally reopens
WAPATO, Wash. -- We're pleased to report that Wapato's Community center is open again after closing last summer.
It shut down when the Wapato Youth Athletic League couldn't afford a higher insurance requirement mandated by the city.
Several organizations stepped up to cover the costs.
After-school programs are running and pee-wee basketball will start in a few weeks.
New tutoring programs are also in the works.
