Union Gap raises property tax for first time in years
UNION GAP, Wash. -- Property taxes will go up for the first time in years.
City council didn't make a decision at Monday night's council meeting,
so they had to hold a special session Thursday.
Council voted in favor of a one percent property tax increase.
One man says he hopes the added money is put to good use.
"I don't mind a one percent tax increase. My point is, what is it for," Paul Sulky said.
We're told this is the first property tax increase since 2008. Council passed the increase with a 5-3 vote.
