Trial date set for last of four suspects accused of a double murder

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A trial date was set for the last defendant suspected of the Yakima Canyon double murder. Marco Gallegos is the only defendant not to make a plea deal in the case. His trial is set to begin in mid-August.

The judge is concerned about picking an impartial jury based on Gallegos' appearance.

"In whether his his appearance is related to anything to do with gang membership or not, I'm worried about the assumptions that are going to be made and that's my concern," Judge Ruth Reukauf said in court.

The judge cited his facial tattoos and haircut. The murders were believed to gang related.
