Table Mountain and Wenatchee fires merge into fire the size of Seattle
CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Two wildfires merged into a massive one that now covers almost 90,000 acres in Central Washington. That's almost the size of Seattle.

The Table Mountain Fire is just 10 percent contained.

Despite the concerns of such a monster, crews tell us it's becoming easier to manage.

"I think people got in their mind when we had smaller fires merge together and create that big smoke plume and everything," said Fire Information Officer, Kent Nelson. "They don't expect that to happen where these two complexes are meeting."

Fire crews say communication between the two camps is vital. The command post is now set up at Rotary Park in Ellensburg.
