YAKIMA, Wash. -- Firefighters suspect arson was behind a house fire in Yakima this afternoon.

Flames tore through the back porch of a house on South 11th Avenue. No one was inside at the time. The owner was renovating the property.

A fire official told KIMA it might have been intentionally set. Other recent fires in the area have involved homes next to alleys. It has neighbors on edge.

"I was terrified," said Bonnie Wilson. "Because their house is very close to mine, and I thought, 'Oh!' I was praying."

The fire department estimates the damage at about $20,000.
