Sunnyside teacher resigns amid investigation
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. -- Action News learned one of the teachers investigated for assigning explicit poems to students has resigned and is out of the classroom.
Sunnyside School District administrators accepted Sacha Mike's resignation.
She was reprimanded after students in her mythology class complained about the sexual content of their lesson plans.
Another teacher, Maria Preston, is in the middle of a lawsuit against the school district for similar circumstances.
The district will not comment on Preston's future with the district.
