YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A settlement was reached Monday over an attack on a woman by her estranged husband, who was also a Yakima County deputy.

Yakima County agreed to pay her $250,000.

It stems from a sexual assault on the woman by then deputy Sean Moore three years ago. Investigators said Moore was in-uniform and on-duty at the time.

He eventually pleaded guilty to the crime and hanged himself in jail before sentencing.

The original claim was seeking $10 million in damages.
