YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Senator Patty Murray pushed for immigration reform during a stop in the Yakima Valley. The democrat wants House republicans to pass the bill already approved by the Senate.

She spoke at Gilbert Orchard where the owners rely on immigrant workers. Murray wants to take the focus off immigration status and put it on criminal status.

The senator says if the House does not pick up the bill, she'll ask President Obama to make administrative changes.

“Everyday that goes along that we haven't fixed it, more families are hurt, more businesses are hurt and our country is just really plagued by a problem that can be fixed," said Senator Patty Murray.

Senator Murray says both political parties need to find common ground.
