YAKIMA, Wash. -- KIMA learned prosecutors will now look to try a 15-year murder suspect as an adult.
Daniel Perez, Junior was formally charged with second degree murder Friday in a juvenile courtroom.
Trying him as an adult will ultimately be decided by a judge. If he was 16 instead of 15 the decision would be automatic.
Perez is accused of killing a man in a gang fight Tuesday night.
The second murder suspect in this case appeared in court Friday as well. Irving Alvarez is also facing second degree murder charges.
He will be back in court next month.

15 , 16, whats the difference give him and the rest of them the death sentence
Age should have nothing to do with this... This person not only had 5 warrants for his arrest but the victim of his crime was essentially executed..Add to the fact that this is a suspected gang activity crime should have more bearing on the compassionate decisions of the judge. You want to get the message out that gang violence will never be tolerated, THIS IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY!!!!!!
@KevinRyak What does having warrants have anything to do with anything? Having warrants merely meant that a judge wanted him in court. Whether he had any knowledge of those warrants is unknown.Â

And age does have everything to do with it. That is why we have juvenile courts and adult courts.Â
