Police make 2nd arrest in Yakima Canyon double murder

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 23-year-old Yakima man was arrested in connection with a double murder that happened last December.

Yakima police said Jose Alfonso Pineda was arrested at a Des Moines motel. Detectives went to Des Moines to continue the investigation.

Troy Whalen was arrested earlier this week in connection with the murders of Michael Eby and Ryan Pederson. A judge set bail at $2 million for Whalen. He's charged with two counts of 1st degree murder.

Pederson and Eby were found shot to death in a car near Roza Dam in December.

Pederson was found in the backseat while Eby was found bound with rope and tape in the trunk.
