YAKIMA, Wash. -- Your money could be used to tear down and rebuild the Yakima Food Bank.

The charity plans to use money from the Yakima Rotary Club and the city of Yakima. That includes $50,000 from taxpayers. Donations will also go toward the rebuilding.

The current building has a leaky roof, while the floors and walls are failing. The food bank says doesn't make sense to repair them.

"This is an old residence and the building is gradually falling down around us,” said Doug Corpron, co-chair of the Yakima Food Bank. “It's been lovingly kept up by volunteers for all these years, and we are really excited about the potential of a new building."

The food bank hopes to use the Southeast Yakima Community Center for operations during construction.
