NEAR YAKIMA, Wash -- Fire crews worked overnight Friday to put out a fire that threatened homes along Ahtanum ridge.
The fire burned south over Ahtanum Ridge onto Yakama Nation Land.
As of Saturday morning the fire was 100% contained, according to Yakama Nation officials.
Firefighters from around the valley responded to it around 6:00 Friday evening.
Officials said it burned around several homes but no structures were damaged. They were able to keep it from spreading west.
Several engines remained on scene Saturday to mop up hot spots and monitor the fire. West Valley Fire is working with Yakama Nation during the mop up.
Investigators are still looking into what may have caused the fire.
