Power pole replacement requires temporary outage to part of Wapato

PACIFIC POWER NEWS RELEASE -- Approximately 300 Pacific Power customers in Wapato will experience an electricity outage between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 while a damaged pole is replaced.

These Pacific Power customers have been individually notified about the outage, which is necessary to safely complete the repair work. The outage will affect an area northeast of downtown Wapato bordered by North Camas Avenue on the east, Industrial Park Road on the north and the railroad tracks on the west and south. Streets that will experience the disruption include Donald Wapato Road, Industrial Park Road, Egan Road, West D Street, East and West B streets, West Elizabeth Street, East and West C streets, East A Street and Mamachat Lane.

"Pacific Power really appreciates the understanding of our customers when planned outages such as this are necessary," said Bill Clemens, Pacific Power regional community manager. "Shutting off the power while our crews do this work on the electrical system ensures that everyone stays safe, and helps ensure reliable power they count on is available to everyone in the community when we're done."
